m - How do you view the idea of “evolving” in your field?
A - Evolution for me comes with embracing the shifting patterns of academia and culture. Since I work in archaeology and contemporary art in both observing closely can sometimes reveal a fantastic intrinsic truth that transforms the way one perceives reality.
m - How important is self-expression to you, and how does it show in one thing you do at work and in your personal day-to-day style?
A - Self expression is key to moving forward with your mission to impact. At work I use the power of self expression through what I wear- Sarees or the dusty olive toned clothes for the field, each convey a sense of belonging and preparedness for the day. It gives more power to my presence.
m - What draws you to fine jewelry? How does it bring you joy?
A - Fine jewellery conveys a sense of longevity to me. It feels like it could be something I pass down generations as a symbol of my taste. One piece of jewellery I love is my grandmother ring made in gold in an old Jaal technique. It’s rare to see that old craftsmanship now.
m - How do you feel when you wear Moi jewelry?
A - I feel like I’m wearing something that influenced from an age old tradition of excellent and delicate craftsmanship.
