Serai unveiled at London Craft Week this May, a collectible limited edition collection of moi that carries within it the weight of centuries of histories, places and hands.
Born out of Moi's research expedition, “Unbound by Beads”, Serai collection draws from the living traditions of adornment in Rajasthan and Gujarat honouring the cultural narratives of the region, the skilful hands of the communities and the surrounding landscape, functioning both as tribute and translation in material form.
This collection exists at the resting point between the archive and the present, between what was held and what we pass on
Brought into being through Moi's collaboration with the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF), Serai took centre stage at the London Craft Week with each piece carrying within it a fragment of a larger story of trade routes, of hands that have adorned for generations and of a craft language that has quietly survived long enough.
Centuries of craft traditions, months of research carried across seas and oceans, one collaboration!
